Looks like summer is on the way. Weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. I saw my first two snakes today. They were two black racers that were a pretty good size and moving rather quickly but stopped as soon as they got some distance from me. I was told this is mating season for them so I guess there will be more of them. You will hear me yell if I stumble upon them. Please be careful as you begin doing your yard work and the days are heating up. Stay hydrated and be careful of your surroundings.

The Saint Patrick’s Day Party was well attended and everyone had lots of fun. Post and Auxiliary Members attended several ceremonies honoring female Veterans during the month of March. Quartermaster Smith and I were guests of First Lady Youngkin’s reception at the Governor’s Mansion where she personally addressed the many contributions of female Veterans past and present. On 6 April, the Post held the Pack Out for Troopsters and over 400 care boxes were filled for deployed Service Members around the world.

We are a very busy Post. However, to keep the momentum going, more volunteers are needed. Ask any Officer how you can help. Keep 9808 at the top.

Congratulations to the 2024-2025 new slate of Officers:
Commander – Paul Smith
Sr Vice – Paul Kelley
Jr Vice – Phil Hudson
Quartermaster – Joanne Smith
Trustees – Ron Scoville, Ray Dawson and Doris Wollett

They will all do a great job keeping Post 9808 moving upward.

Keep contacting Members about renewing their dues. We are getting close to meeting the Commander in Chief’s goal of 102%, but it’s going to take all of us to get there.

Continue to check on one another even if it’s only a phone call or a note mailed to them. We are a big family.

Team Veterans

Doris Wollett
