Commander’s Message
Comrades,
Will this cold weather ever go away? I, for one, am ready for warmer temperatures and sunny days. But remember with warm weather comes yard work. It’s time to get your tools and equipment ready for grass cutting season.
We have had improved attendance at our monthly meeting and I appreciate your participation. There is always a lot of discussion on what has happened and what is planned to happen. Come to the meeting and hear it firsthand.
Our recurring groups continue to come by for fellowship and a meal at the Post. The Retired Richmond Firefighters come monthly for lunch, the Retired Henrico Firefighters come each month for breakfast, the Air National Guard also comes for breakfast, and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association comes for lunch. There are also others that we support and enjoy them coming by. Check the calendar inside the newsletter to see when they come and drop by and introduce yourself to them.
The Post held its Annual Awards Ceremony on 27 January and gave out many scholarship checks to students to be used to further their education. We also recognized Hanover’s outstanding member of the Sheriff’s Department, Firefighter, and EMS. It was well attended by the awardees along with family and friends and representatives from their school or Hanover County Department.
