Commander’s Message

Comrades,

2022 is coming to a close and we look forward to the new year. This time of the year, we are busy getting ready for the holidays. I ask that we make time and check in on our comrades especially those we haven’t seen in a while.

Our Veterans Day program was a great time for camaraderie and a delicious lunch. The Post has many activities this month, so please check the calendar. On 3 December, we will be conducting a Troopster care package packing event. Troopster sends care packages to our deployed service men and women in various zones throughout the world. Please join us in preparing these packages. On 10 December, the Post will be having a Christmas Party and everyone is invited to come out and get in the spirit of the Holidays. Call the Post or drop by to make your reservation. The cost is $5 to hold your spot. We are also planning a New Year’s Eve party with appetizers and dinner and we will wrap up at 10 PM to give everyone time to be home by Midnight. I look forward to seeing you at one or both parties.

This year’s Wreaths Across America will be held on the 17th. Our bus will depart the Post at 10 AM with the ceremony starting at 11 AM. On 20 December, we have 40 tickets to the Richmond Pops Concert and the Post bus will depart at 6:00 PM. Please sign up at the Post to reserve your seats on the bus.

Lastly, I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Paul Smith
Senior Vice Commander
