Commander’s Message

Comrades,

I think we can honestly say cold weather is here.  Close those vents around the foundation of your house and disconnect the water hoses so they don’t freeze.  Change out the filters of your heat system and make sure you seal any drafty areas.  I love wood heat but with it comes a mess and also chance of a house fire.  Think safety and be safe.

Post Clean-up day was great.  We had a good turn out and got lots accomplished.   Not only did Post Members come out, but we got additional help from the Boy Scouts, Sea Cadets, MHS NJROTC, and family and friends.  Plans are to have another clean up in the spring.  Make plans to come help.  There is something for any and all to do.

If you didn’t get by for the Veterans Day Program, you missed out.  It was an honor for me to present the Program and then invite all attendees for a wonderful bar-b-q lunch.

We held the Second Troopster event on 6 November and packed 200 boxed care packages to be sent to our Military serving in Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.   We hope to beat that number in the spring so we are looking for more participation.

Troopster November 2021
Post 9808 partnered with Troopster on 6 November to pack care packages to be sent to Service Members stationed in Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.  We got the community involved by having the MHS NJROTC, Boy Scout Troop 502, Sea Cadets, and family and friends help.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship.
