Commander’s Message
Comrades,
We have had a busy month and it doesn’t look like things are letting up, but that is a good thing. The Post is almost back to conducting business like we have in the past. You no longer have to wear a mask if you have been fully vaccinated. Bingo continues to be going strong, however, we could use additional volunteers to work. Let Senior Vice, Ray Otto, know if you are willing to work a minimum of one night a month. Your time would allow those few that are working a night off at times. Corn Hole is every Friday night and brings in revenue to help the Post. If you have not come out on the second Saturday morning of the month for the Buffet Breakfast, you are really missing an amazing meal. Give it a try, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. The Post continues to support Liberation Veterans Services and Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center monthly. There is always room for one more to assist at both these events, just let me know. Remember this and every other Post depends on its Members to volunteer in order to have events and in return make money to continue to pay our monthly bills. We are a TEAM. The Post needs YOU!
The 4th of July Celebration was a wonderful success. Thanks to all that came out and celebrated together. It was outstanding! The VFW Riders continue to support Veterans and their families. The latest was being part of the funeral escort for WWII Veteran Raymond Blanton. It was an honor to be a part of this and we all stood tall during the Flag Line as Veteran Blanton was carried both in and out of the church.
