Commander’s Message
Comrades,
June is upon us and so is summer. Wow, what a year. Where to begin? Perhaps it’s best to recap what we have done during this pandemic.
We have hosted 8 Red Cross Blood Drives in partnership with Humana Healthcare. We provided 500 meals to nurses and staff at Richmond area hospitals for Nurse’s Week. We took meals to Liberation Homeless Shelter and we have provided meals for takeout 5 days a week to keep a revenue stream flowing.
We have been able to keep our employees, a vital part of our Post, employed. There is new Bingo equipment in the Bingo Hall, and there is a new floor in the old bar.
In short, we have served our Veterans, our community and survived.
As I write this, uncertainty and challenging times continue ahead. But with patience and perseverance this Post will meet the challenges ahead. The Post will continue to provide to go meals Monday – Friday, 4 p.m – 7 p.m., for the foreseeable future. Read More and view the entire newsletter.
