February is gone and March is upon us. We have been blessed with some spring-like weather for the past few weeks but Old Man Winter is holding on for a bit longer.
March kicks off on the 3rd with our monthly trip to Lonesome Dove horse farm to assist disabled veterans with horse riding therapy. The group leaves the Post at 10AM and if you’d like to help out, see Comrade Doris Wollett. Also, March 3rd is “Super Tuesday” for the Democrat Party primaries. Our Post is a polling place so many county citizens will be coming in to vote. Virginia is an open primary state so you don’t have to be a member of the Democrat party, primary voting is open to all voters.
On the 5th, we’ll deliver and serve dinner to the homeless men at Liberation Shelter in Richmond. If you’d like to help, See Quartermaster Ray Bassetti. Or just show up before the van leaves at 6 PM. All the fellas in this shelter are military veter-ans who have hit a tough time in their lives. We stand with them and we will see them get back on their feet.
