Auxiliary

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our Post served a complimentary lunch on Veterans Day and transported Post and Auxiliary members to Hanover Wayside for a traditional Veterans Day Service.

Tuesday, the 12th, our Veterans were celebrated at Stone-wall Jackson Middle School. The students presented a moving tribute to our Veterans followed by a reception.

We welcome Shirley Brooks, Wendy Clinger, and Bonnie Hughes to our Auxiliary. We need about 40 more mem-bers to renew their membership. Remember, after De-cember 31st, you will no longer be in Good Standing if your dues have not been received.

Our Auxiliary and Post welcomed Wounded Female Vet-erans Saturday afternoon, November 16th. It was an ex-cellent opportunity to visit and show our appreciation for their sacrifice.

Our Annual McGuire Christmas Bingo Party will be De-cember 11th. We need volunteers to serve and assist the veterans. Please signup if you can help.

I want to thank everyone for their generous donations for our Homeless Female Veterans. If you haven’t donated, we need to receive everything no later than December 1st so we can assemble the bags for delivery.

Our project to deliver Food or Cheer Bags to our shut-ins has been well supported. They will be delivered during the Holiday Season. A special “Thank You” to everyone for their donations.

Wreaths Across America will bring wreaths to place on graves at Cold Harbor Cemetery. We will take the bus from 9808 on the 14th of December. Please signup if you can help. The Annual Post Christmas Party will be at 3PM. Please make your reservations.

The Post has a container collecting Toys for Tots. They request new unwrapped toys for underprivileged children to brighten their Christmas.

Please notify our Chaplain, Edith Jones, at 746-1615 or edie2c@yahoo.com of any illness or death affecting our members.

Check your Newsletter and Calendar for activities and events at our Post. Many of these activities offer volunteer opportunities to support our Post.

Please plan to attend our December meeting on the 12th at 7:30PM, and bring a Christmas Treat (cookies, candy, brownies, dip, cheeseball, etc) to share with the comrades following the meeting.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Our Veterans Are Tops
